Robert Joyner,
Church Organist

Bob began serving
as organist at Wekiva Presbyterian Church in August of 1997 after
serving several churches of varying denominations for the past 22
years.
He earned his
A.A. in Music from Seminole Community College in 1973, and a B.A.
in Music Education with a major in organ from the University of
West Florida in Pensacola in 1975. Bob’s organ study at UWF was
with Dr. William H. Bates who earned his Doctor of Music Arts at
Indiana University while studying with the great organist and teacher,
Dr. Oswald Ragatz.
In June of 2005, Bob retired after 30 years of teaching elementary
school music.
He is enjoying
his retirement by spending more time with his Church Music Ministry
at the wonderful Allen organ that he loves to play each Sunday.
Bob was born
in Jackson, Tennessee but moved to Orlando at seven years of age.
Bob is married to his wife Patty, who is the Church Secretary/Office
Manager at Wekiva Presbyterian Church, and they have two sons, Jason
and Jeremy.
